Description
The Diaseris Plate Coral is a unique member of the Fungiidae family, known for its irregular, wedge-shaped structure and ability to fragment naturally—earning it the nickname “the plate coral that frags itself.” Typically found on lower reef slopes or flat substrates, it features muted tones like beige or grey with green margins or centers, and grows up to 70 mm across. Unlike more common plate corals like Fungia or Cycloseris, Diaseris is less frequently seen in the aquarium trade but prized for its sculptural, contorted shapes and self-propagating behavior.
